CHEEK LIFT

A mid-face lift, also known as a cheek lift, addresses one of the earliest signs of aging – sagging of the cheeks and the surrounding area. For many, the traditional face lift may not fully treat the upper cheek and lower eyelid areas of the face, which often flatten and lengthen with age. A cheek lift elevates the fat pad in the cheek (called the malar fat pad), providing fullness to the eyes and cheeks – leading to a refreshed, rejuvenated look. Results are more permanent than those offered by injectables, and recovery from a mid-face lift is quicker than a traditional facelift.

Mid-face lift or Cheek Lift Procedure

Traditionally, a cheek lift elevates the sagging cheek tissue (malar fat pad) by using minimal incisions around the hairline and ear. This approach gives a more youthful appearance to the cheekbones and reduces the nasolabial laugh lines around the mouth. Sutures are then placed in the fat pad as it is pulled back up to its original position. MAAC surgeons have fine-tuned the use of endoscopic cameras and other technological advances for mid-face lift procedures that target the skin and muscle tissue in the cheeks – tightening and smoothening the appearance of deep marionette lines (vertical lines that run downward from the outer corners of the mouth along the outside of the chin) and nasolabial folds. The mid-face lift surgery lasts approximately for two hours, unless additional procedures are being completed at the same time.

Results :

A mid-face lift can dramatically change your appearance. While your results will be immediate, the cheek pad may look “overcorrected,” but, over time, the cheek settles into a natural position. To maintain your results, it is important to follow up with your Maac cosmetic surgeon, as well as using sunscreen regularly. View our cheek lift (mid-face lift) before and after photos to see results from actual patients.

DIMPLE CREATION
Dimples are small visible indentations on the surface of the skin. A natural dimple is usually formed when there is a small defect in the cheek musculature. The skin overlying this small defect is stuck down to the underlying connective tissue and creates a dimple in the skin. Dimples occur on the face, tend to accentuate a smile, thus increasing the perception of attractiveness, sociability, and facial beauty.

Dimple Creation Procedure
The Surgical Method
This procedure most closely mimics a naturally occurring dimple. This procedure is performed under local anaesthesia. To create a dimple, a small painless incision is made in the inside of your cheek, creating a defect in the muscles of the face so the dimple will occur when smiling. There is a dimple present even without smiling for first few days of surgery, but after several days, the dimple is only present while smiling or moving the face.

The suture is placed from inside of the mouth and passed so that it catches the back side of the cheek skin so when tied in a loop, a dimple is formed.
EAR SURGERY
(Otoplasty Cosmetic Ear Surgery) Ear Surgery / Otoplasty is an aesthetic procedure to alter the shape, position or size of the ears with the goal of bringing balance and proportion to the ears and face.

Types Of Ear Surgery:
Ear pinning is used to position the ears more closely to the sides of the head.If the ears stick out, ear pinning can be performed to flatten the ears against the head. Reconstructive ear surgery is a form of otoplasty used to correct congenital deformities (Eg. Microtia) or injuries include burns, lacerations, and infected or torn piercings. Bilateral otoplasty is an ear pinning and reshaping surgery performed on both ears. Ear reduction surgery is a form of otoplasty used for sculpting larger ears, giving patients a more natural look which can provide balance and symmetry to the face and ears, and is often accompanied by ear pinning.

Ear Surgery Recovery
A dressing is placed over the ear for a week to help reduce the normal swelling that occurs in the ear for a few days following surgery. Take pain medication as recommended by your doctor to reduce discomfort and itching.Avoid sleeping on your side to keep pressure off your ears, Also try not to rub or place excessive force on the incisions. The ear bandages are removed after a week. Your ears will likely be swollen and red. You'll need to wear a loose headband that covers your ears at night for two to six weeks for quick healing. Most adults return to work about five days following ear surgery. Children can return to school after about a week, but they must limit their activities until they are fully healed from surgery.

The lower lid, can be corrected through an incision just below the lashes in your eye's natural crease or inside the lower lid. Through this incision, excess skin in the lower eyelid is removed and the excess fat can be repositioned or removed. A transconjunctival incision, is an alternate technique to correct lower eyelid conditions and redistribute or remove excess fat. The advantage with this technique is no skin is removed.
FACELIFT SURGERY

Types Of Facelift Surgery

There are three main types of face lift surgery

Traditional

A traditional face lift will involve your surgeon making a surgical incision along your hairline, your scarring will be hidden within the hair and natural creases of the face and it will fade quickly until it is barely visible. The skin will then be lifted and stitched into place along the original incision and any excess skin removed.
Minimal Access Cranial Suspension (MACS)
The main difference between this type of face lift surgery and the traditional method is that the incisions made are smaller and the tightening of facial muscles and removal of excess fat is done through these small surgical incisions. Excess fat can also be removed using this face lift procedure.

Keyhole Surgery

keyhole surgery involve your surgeon making several very small incisions into the skin on your face. Then insert a telescopic camera, called an endoscope, beneath the skin and the live image will be displayed on a monitor - it is from this that the surgeon can see exactly which muscles to tighten and how much excess fat to remove, if any. Keyhole surgery offers a short recovery time and will result in less scarring.

Facelift Recovery: When your face lift procedure is completed, a bandage may be placed around your face to minimize swelling and bruising. A thin tube may be inserted to drain any excess blood or fluid that may collect under the skin, which is removed the day after surgery.
Ideal Candidates
  • Candidates whose face and neck has begun to sag,
  • Deep creases below the lower eyelids
  • Deep creases along the nose extending to the corner of the mouth
  • Facial fat that has fallen or is displaced, creating jowls
  • Loose skin and excess fatty deposits under the chin and jaw (“double chin” ).
  • Individuals do not have medical illness / life-threatening illness that can impair healing.
  • Non – Smokers
  • Patients who have realistic expectations about the outcome of the procedure.
Recovery
When your face lift procedure is completed, a bandage may be placed around your face to minimize swelling and bruising. A thin tube may be inserted to drain any excess blood or fluid that may collect under the skin, which is removed the day after surgery. After your surgery there is usually some bruising of the cheeks, discomfort is usually mild and can be controlled with mild painkillers. It is normal for there to be some numbness of the skin of the cheeks and ears. This will usually disappear in a few weeks. Your face may be swollen after the surgery. You can help to ease the swelling by keeping your head propped up when you're lying down. It is important to avoid bending forwards as this may cause more swelling. You should also avoid very hot drinks for the first week as well as avoiding very chewy foods helps facial swelling to settle quicker. You should not do strenuous activity, for at least two weeks after your operation. On an average patients can return to their normal daily routine after 14 days, having had their stitches removed between seven to 14 days after the procedure.

Lip Surgery Procedures
Lip Reduction

The lip reduction procedure is performed under local anaesthesia on out-patients or may be performed under general anaesthesia if they are undergoing multiple procedures. The surgeon creates a horizontal incision on the inside of the lips, then removes excess fat and tissue from the lips before closing the incision with stitches.

INJECTIONS: Collagen injections: Collagen injections are used to temporarily augment the lips. The results generally last between one and three months. In some people collagen injections may cause allergic reaction so sensitivity test is recommended before the lip augmentation procedure.

Fat injections: Fat is injected into the lips through fine needle. The fat is taken from patients own body often from the abdomen or thighs, and is purified before it is injected into the lips. Main advantage of Fat injection is that there is no possibility of an allergic reaction and results usually lasts longer than collagen injections.

SURGICAL PROCEDURES
AlloDerm:
Alloderm is the most popular material for lip augmentation Synthetic Implants: Synthetic Implants do not shrink and are never absorbed into the body. Synthetic implants are foreign substances and may become infected or be rejected by the body. If this occurs, the implants can be removed. Fat grafting: This procedure has permanent results in approximately half of the people who try it. Although it is possible that the body will reabsorb it, many people choose fat grafting because they are most comfortable with using the fat from their own body. Local flap grafts: Local flaps bring material from inside the mouth outside to enhance the lips. Results are temporary.
Recovery

After Lip reduction surgery best results are seen at about two to three months. Lip Augmentation Recovery: Injections: Recovery takes about 1-2 days. Bruising and swelling may last as long as a week. Grafts and flaps: Recovery takes about 1-2 weeks. During this time, you may experience some drooling, some temporary stiffness in your lips. Post-operative care after lip surgery:

  • For the first 48 hours apply ice packs to your lips to reduce swelling and bruising
  • To avoid swelling or bleeding, do not bend over, strain, exercise or do any other activities that could increase pressure to your lips.
  • Keep the lips clean to avoid infection
  • Sleep in a semi-upright position for the first week and do not sleep on your stomach
  • Talking and chewing should be limited during the first 48 hours
NECK LIFT

Rhinoplasty Procedure
Closed procedure:In closed procedure incisions are hidden inside the nose Open procedure: In this procedure incisions are made across the columella, the narrow strip of tissue that separates the nostrils. Through these incisions, skin of the Nose is separated from its supporting framework of bone and cartilage, which is then sculpted to the desired shape. Deviated nasal septum can be corrected by straightening the septum and the projections inside the nose is reduced to improve breathing. Once the underlying structure of the nose is sculpted to the desired shape, nasal skin and tissue is redraped and incisions are closed.
Ideal Candidates
